SouthFork Color 2017

Mollie and I took a Saturday afternoon drive to the cabin at Southfork.  The maple leaves were bright and colorful.  The Box Elder leaves have changed, fallen and dried.  The dried leaves make a most satisfying crunch under foot.

I wonder if my watercolor set can capture the colors of Fall.  What do you think?

Signs of Autumn

Summer has been filled things to be done, completed and accomplished.  You only have so many days of sunshine, you must fill every minute.  Today, in between laundry loads, and hand watering, I looked down to see my first orange, autumn, maple leaf.  Soon, I notice another.  The first signs of autumn,  and it seem fitting as local children head back to school tomorrow.

Autumn colors

This year the orange and red Maples dropped their leaves early.  We are now seeing the oak brush changing to yellows as well as the Cottonwoods and  Box Elde tree along the river.

More Spring Color

The Mountains that surround the lower valleys are covered with a soft almost velvet, spring green with highlights of bright yellow- green Maple trees.  In the canyon the Maples leaves have appeared and flowered.  We are still waiting for the Oaks.  My mother's garden is filled with blooms - tulips, daffodils, and all colors, red, pink, purple, blue, yellow, white primroses.  The neighbor's plum tree has scented the air as well as dropping petals of confetti throughout the neighborhood.

On the freshly mowed, green lawn Mollie lies, enjoying the warmth of the sun and chewing on a stick.

Thursday - Time off

I had a day off.  In the morning, I took my car to be inspected.  Then in the afternoon,  Mollie and I went to the cabin.   We mowed the lawn and took a walk.

Autumn color, especially reds were in abundance.   Along the river, yellows could be enjoyed.  I just wanted to share a few shots of the autumn leaves and autumn landscape with you.
