Remnants
My drive home each night takes me through a neighborhood of townhouses and condos. This time of year fruit trees are in bloom, remnants of the orchard that use to fill the neighborhood.

My Mother's Garden
A burst of color
Beds of blossoms, buds, foliage -
My mother's garden.
Also,
A stepping stone path
Winds through colorful blossoms;
My mother's garden.

Near my home a ravine of snow drops blooms each Spring
A patch of snow drops
blooms in a wooded ravine
in the melting snow.
blooms in a wooded ravine
in the melting snow.
Green petticoats peek
from under white petal skirts
as spring snow drops dance.

Evening Walk
Tonight on Mollie's and my evening walk we notice the neighbors home warm with light, while we walk through a cool blue dusk.
From a hillside home
The golden warmth of light glows
In contrast to dusk.
And after lunch I saw a garden filled with chrysanthemums on my way back to work.
Yellow, Purple, Red
Autumn Chrysanthemums
In Clumps of Bright Blooms.
